DAIRY INDUSTRY
Life in Western SydneyAlthough there has been a rapid decline in the Dairy industry in Western Sydney over the last twenty years, six percent of the state's total is still produced in the district. Hawkesbury & Camden areas are the main producers with about 18,000 dairy cattle on about fifty farms. The industry is worth $25 million per annum.

TURF FARMING & MUSHROOMS
Turf farming and the mushroom industry are now major enterprises particularly in the Hawkesbury district. The mushroom industry is worth $80 whilst the turf farming industry is valued at $50 million per year.

ORCHARDS
Various citrus and stone fruit varieties are still grown in large quantities in orchards throughout the Hawkesbury and Baulkham Hills district. The citrus industry is worth about $100 million per year.
