What is in Blacktown's Local Studies Collection?

The Library’s Local Studies Collection is a special collection of historic and current material on all aspects of the Blacktown area.

It is held at the Max Webber Central library and access is available to all library customers free of charge.

Resources in the Local Studies collection are for use in the Library only and cannot be borrowed. Some duplicate copies may be held in the lending collection.

The Local Studies staff provide a wide variety of handouts and brochures on popular topics which are available free of charge. Most resources in the collection are listed on the on-line catalogue and indexes for finding Local Studies information are held in the Local Studies section. The Library indexes local newspapers to enable easy access to information.

Local Studies and Reference staff are happy to help with enquiries relating to the local area. For lengthy or in depth enquiries, please contact the Local Studies Librarian on (02) 9839 – 6622 or email leonie.gendle@blacktown.nsw.gov.au
